The Medical Administrative Assistant/Electronic Health Records Course intensively prepares students for the administrative skills and electronic health records that medical administrative assistants must know. This program integrates all of the front office topics including, electronic health records and skill competencies required for today’s industry standards. Material dealing with medical office, medical records, management skills, client service skills and responsibilities, client education and legal/ethical issues are also covered in this course.
Upon successful completion of either of these courses, each student will have the knowledge and training to enter the field of Medical Administrative Assistant at the entry level. Both of these programs include a foundation of administrative and business practices specific to the medical field, including medical billing and medical coding, electronic health records, billing and office administration, Computer security, communication skills, scheduling and HIPAA rules and regulations are also an integral part of the program. Successful completion will allow the student to take an important role in both the administrative and clinical operations of a doctors office, ambulatory care center, nursing home, clinic or other facility.
